The ONE thing Apple needs to fix for Apple Vision Pro 2
It may have already entered production

Hey everyone, it’s Cosmo. Rumor has it Apple Vision Pro 2 is starting mass production this week. Regardless of whether that’s true or not, a successor to Apple Vision Pro is inevitable – the only question is what will it improve upon when it does come out?
As I’ve shared in this video, my biggest issue with Apple Vision Pro is its poor weight distribution. visionOS is the best spatial computing operating system and the screen quality is fantastic, but the heaviness of the device compromises the entire experience. I have tried many third-party straps, and even with my favorite Globular Cluster CMA-1, it is still freaking heavy!
Earlier this year there were rumors that Apple may simply upgrade the chip from M2 to M4 or M5 and leave everything else the same. I find it hard to believe that Apple is not aware of how uncomfortable their beautiful headset is. I would be shocked if they didn’t improve the weight and/or weight distribution in some way for AVP 2.
I prefer to use my AVP without the Light Seal which is a far more immersive experience that feels more like you’re wearing AR glasses than a VR headset. Since Apple promotes AVP as an AR device, it would be cool to see AVP 2 come with a headstrap that supports this type of use case. Meta shipped the Quest Pro with clip-on light blockers and I wonder if that could be a better approach?
I think Apple will unlock far more potential for this platform through visionOS 3 than new hardware. There are so many low hanging fruits! What do you think? What are you hoping for in the next AVP?
